Every time I participate in the Israel Ride and I see the Arava students, Israeli and Arab, working together and learning to treat each other well, it gives me faith and hope – particularly during this time of heightened hatred and fear – that we can conquer climate change, inequality, and many other current challenges, and it restores my optimism that we can accomplish these things together. It’s why I’m willing to raise $10,000+ for the Virtual Israel Ride this year, even if I can’t be there in person, just as in past years, I was happy to fly all the way to Israel each year and ride for a week from Jerusalem to Ketura, just to see the Arava students relate to each other.
